On\u00a0October 30th<\/span><\/span><\/a>, we\u2019ll be\u00a0upgrading our web hosting cPanel<\/strong>\u00a0to a new and more secure version.<\/p>\n

This new version will, however, require all new domains, subdomains and addon domains to have an SSL certificate installed. If there\u2019s no SSL certificate associated with newly added domains, cPanel will self sign an SSL certificate and install it.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that self signed certificates are\u00a0not<\/strong>\u00a0issued by Certificate Authorities, so they\u2019re not\u00a0trusted<\/strong>\u00a0by web browsers. And whoever attempts to access the website via https:\/\/ will see the warning message.<\/p>\n

Can I avoid this change?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Unfortunately, no. This functionality offers much improved security to the end-user, so it is now mandatory for cPanel and it can\u2019t be turned off.<\/p>\n

Where can I get a trusted SSL certificate?<\/span><\/h2>\n
